Todor's Day

Todor's Day is a church feast celebrated on the Sabbath day of the first week of the Great Lent. On this day, the Church commemorates the memory of St. Theodore Tyron.
Todor's day is also called Tudorica or Easter horse. It is celebrated with the solemn worship of the horse, with the stormy Bulgarian racing (horse racing). The winner is rewarded - the horse usually gets a bridle and his owner is a shirt or a towel. The winner of the race travels with his horse all the homes to celebrate the holiday. He welcomed him everywhere and took his horse with water.
